Josephine Snell
Josephine Butler Snell, 90, of Rossville, died at 3:40 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009, at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville.
Born March 7, 1919, in Clinton County, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Faye Marie Miller Bolinger. She was a lifelong resident of the Rossville area and attended schools in Owasco and Rossville. Her first marriage was on Sept. 17, 1938, to Wayne Butler, who preceded her in death on July 21, 1972. On Dec. 29, 1984, she married Paul A. Snell, who survives.
Mrs. Snell worked at Sayco in Flora for 10 years and at Globe Valve in Delphi for 17 years. She managed the Flora trailer park for three years.
She was a member of the Lower Deer Creek Church of the Brethren and a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW in Attica.
She enjoyed traveling, flowers and gardening.
Also surviving are two daughters, Marilyn Dunk of Rossville and Connie Sue Platt (husband: Larry) of Streeter; a son, Jerry Butler (wife: Deb) of Rossville; a step-daughter, Diana Irmeger (husband: Ron) of Rossville; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a brother, Glennis Leon Bolinger; a sister, Helen Mae Rude; a son-in-law, Bob Dunk; and two grandchildren.
Services will be today, Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. at Bodine Funeral Home in Rossville. Pastors Guy Studebaker and Opal Reiff will officiate. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery.
