Flora-Monroe Township
The library will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26, in observance of the Thanksgiving Day holiday. Normal operating hours resume on Friday, Nov. 27.
When you take your kids to see Santa in the Flora Pizza King, stop and check out the holiday book sale. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Library. A big thank you to Peggy Stigers and her family for hosting the sale.
A new exhibit from Carroll Elementary’s second grade art enrichment is available to the public. They created fox collages by “drawing with scissors,” in the style of Henri Matisse and picture book artist/writer Eric Carle.
Also on display are woodland scenes by second and third grade students. The paintings are in the style of English artist John Consatable using only the primary colors and mixing those colors to create their works of art. Visit the art exhibit in the library’s program room.
The theme for the next storytime is “All about Me.” This is the best storytime of all because it’s about you! We’ll have stories and finger plays about feelings, family, and how it’s okay to be different. Storytime is Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.
You can hear great stories day and night on the library’s Dial-a-Story phone line. Currently playing is “Old Man Rabbit’s Thanksgiving Dinner.” On Friday the new story will be “The Rat Princess.” Call Dial-a-Story at 967-3814.
