Wrestling club begins new season at Peru

The Carroll Cougars Wrestling Club participated in its first competition of the new wrestling season by participating in the HYWAY Take Down Tournament at Peru.

Jared Collins won all of his five rounds by pin, placing 1st, along with Darren Dillon, a second year club member who moved up a weight class. Second place finishers were Tanner Turnpaugh and first year member Thomas Pitrowski. Hunter Walker placed 3rd.

Club members will compete Sunday in the HYWAY Tournament of Titans to be held at Taylor High School.

The club now meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Carroll Elementary School. Any one interested in learning more about the club should contact Shelly Turnpaugh, membership director, at (765) 268- 2313.
