William “Bill” Eugene Collins, 87, Delphi, died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Delphi.

Born Dec. 17, 1921, in Lafayette, he was the son of Argola Collins. His marriage was on June 27, 1964, to Marilyn Popejoy Acheson, who survives.

Mr. Collins retired in 1989 from Purdue University where he worked in the Stewart and Memorial Union buildings.

Also surviving are three daughters, Sandy Pfaff (husband: Bob) of Rochester, Phyllis Drake (husband: Phil) of Brookston and Gayle Collins of North Carolina; a son, Floyd W. “Billy” Collins of Mississippi; three stepchildren, Ricky Acheson (husband: Debbie) of Delphi, Cindy Denton (husband: Harold) of Flora, and Melinda Wilson (husband: Mark) of Camden; 17 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; several great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Services were held Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi. Burial followed at Tippecanoe Memorial Gardens in West Lafayette.

Memorials may be made to the American Kidney Association or the Carroll County Cancer Association.
