Nicholas P. Stephens, 26, of Lafayette, formerly of Delphi, passed away in his sleep Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009.

Born Jan. 4, 1983, in Kokomo, he was the son of Wayne Stephens and Charlotte Patterson. He attended Delphi Community schools.

Nicholas worked as a foreman for the insulation crew at Rose-Walker Construction in Lafayette.

He was attending Ivy Tech, studying automotive mechanics.

He enjoyed motorcycles and welding.

Surviving are a daughter, Halle Stephens, at home; his fiancé, Jeri Sexton of Lafayette; his father, Wayne Stephens (wife: Kathy) of Delphi; a sister, Tamie Stephens of Tampa, Fla.; a brother, Dustin Stephens (wife: Rhi Anna) of Sanford, N.C.; a stepbrother, Matt Higldon (wife: Susan) of Danville; a stepsister, Amanda Mohler (husband: Ben) of Logansport; and his paternal grandparents, Paul and Maxine Stephens of Bringhurst.

Preceding him in death were his mother and his maternal grandparents.

Services were held Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi. Monsignor Sell officiated. Burial followed at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
