Dorothy E. Staley
Services for Dorothy Elizabeth “Dot” Staley, 91, of Mulberry, were held Friday at Bodine Funeral Home, Mulberry. Burial followed at Fair Haven Cemetery.
She died at 10:16 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2009, at Lafayette Home Hospital.
Born Aug. 6, 1918, in Brookston, White County, she was the daughter of Charles C. and Bertie Mae Fuller Myers. She graduated from Mulberry High School in 1936. On Dec. 11, 1937, she married William C. “Bill” Staley, who preceded her in death on Nov. 25, 1996.
Mrs. Staley was a lifelong resident of Mulberry. She worked as a switchboard operator for Mulberry Telephone Company for five years. From 1964 to 1984 she was employed as a cook at Mulberry High School.
She was a member of Trinity Church of Mulberry.
Surviving are three daughters, Cindy Lundquist (husband: Jon) of Cottage Grove, Oregon, Beth Conklin of Frankfort, and Tammy Oberle of Mulberry; a sister, Lorie VanCamp of Mulberry; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Tom Staley; a daughter, Sharon Swan; and a sister, Bernice Irene Kurtz.
