Parade, Santa coming to town

Flora’s Christmas parade will be Nov. 21 with the theme, “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”

The parade will begin at 12:30 p.m., with line-up at 11:30 at Jackson-Lee-Pearson’s northeast office building at the corner of Willow and Clark streets. Registration is also there. Pre-registration is encouraged. Call Danielle Hicks, 967-3292.

The parade will proceed on Clark Street to Center Street, to Main, and will end at Flora Community Park.

Awards will be given for Best Float, Best Depiction of Theme, Best Motorized, Most Entertaining, and Best Walking Group. Winners will be announced immediately following the parade at the Christmas Gift & Craft Show in the 4-H Building at the park.

To help those in need in the community, parade participants and spectators are asked to bring items for the Food Pantry. Especially needed are boxed food, canned fruit, and staples (flour, sugar). The items can be dropped off at the parade registration area or at the 4-H Building.

Sponsor of the Parade, Flora Community Club, invites those who have served or are serving in Iraq or Afghanistan to ride in the parade. Those interested should contact Theresa Brown, 967-3022, by Friday.

Santa’s visits

Santa Claus will be in the parade and will visit with children inside the Pizza King on Center Street for two hours following the parade. He will be at the same location on Saturdays, Nov. 28, Dec. 5, Dec. 12, and Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Flora Psi Iota Xi hosts his visits.

Gift & Craft Show

The Community Club also sponsors the Carroll County Christmas Gift & Craft Show, which will be Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the 4-H Building. There will be 15 vendors, and the Carroll Cougaretz will be
