Popejoy Jane Alison Popejoy, 38, of Ambia, has been charged in Carroll County with theft from Cub Scout Troop 3165 in Delphi after the new treasurer reported missing funds from the troop’s account.

First Sergeant Tom McKee of the Indiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division was asked to investigate the theft of approximately $3,000 that was taken while Popejoy was Cubmaster/treasurer of Pack 3165.

She turned herself in to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department on Monday and was released after posting bond.

Popejoy was charged with theft, a class D felony. McKee stated the charges were filed last week as a result of a seven month investigation.
