LEE HOARD of Delphi will be working with Kenny Whipker, head of the Indiana Department of Correction Jail Audits agency, according to a recent announcement by Correction Commissioner Edwin Buss.

Hoard and Whipker, both retired sheriffs, will be auditing and inspecting county jail facilities with Hoard serving Indianapolis north and Whipker, Indianapolis south. They will also assist in providing oversight with jail operations, policies, procedures and training. Large facilities will receive services from both inspectors/auditors and they will remain on call to assist local sheriffs with critical situations that occur in their facilities.

“Both former sheriffs have a solid record of service to community, county, state, and country,” said Buss. “Their experience, integrity, and professionalism well suit them as they embark on their new endeavors.”

Flora Attorney DICK N. BISHOP attended a seminar sponsored by the Indiana Department of Insurance at Ivy Tech’s Lafayette campus on Nov. 3.

The seminar dealt with a new provision in the Indiana Code which requires individuals who are engaged in preparing real estate contracts, issuing title insurance, closing real estate transactions, etc., to create a data base and report the sales involving residential real estate to the State of Indiana.
