TASKFORCE REPORTS will be given at a meeting of CARROLL COUNTY AT THE CROSSROADS set for Nov. 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Wabash & Erie Canal Center, Delphi. To be discussed will be goals and actions for: Creating Job Opportunities, Diversity, Tourism, Government Dialogue, and Marketing Carroll County. Everyone is welcome.

Leadership Carroll County is hosting a free informational session, RUNNING FOR AN ELECTED OFFICE, at 7 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Flora-Monroe Public Library. Information on how to run for an elected office, how to run an effective campaign, and more will be presented by a panel of present and former elected officials. Moderator will be Todd Ladd. Refreshments will be served.

An OPEN DOOR LAW TRAINING SEMINAR will be held Nov. 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Delphi Public Library. Hoosier State Press Association General Counsel Steve Key will present the “nuts and bolts” of Indiana’s Open Door Law and Access to Public Records Act. The seminar, sponsored by the Carroll County Comet, is free and open to the public.

A meeting of the CARROLL COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY on Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. at Solomon’s Grill in Delphi. All those interested in the Democratic party are urged to attend.

The Salvation Army is having its annual ANGEL TREE SIGN-UP on Nov. 16 from 4-7pm at The Brooks Center on Prince William Road in Delphi. This is a program to help families with the purchase of Christmas gifts for their children. Diane Gee of Lafayette, an artist with the ARTISANS GALLERY OF TIMES PAST ANTIQUES will give a pottery demonstration at the gallery Nov. 12. She will complete a piece that night. It will be presented to Daryl Smith, who won a chance to have a pottery piece thrown just for him. The event will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The gallery is located in the upper level of Times Past Antiques.

The Carroll County Health Department is in need of a LICENSED NURSE to give H1N1 vaccine shots Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Health Department, located in the courthouse in Delphi. If available one or both days, contact Hope directly at (765) 564- 3420.

A NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH meeting to be led by Carroll County Sheriff Tony Burns will be held Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. at the Deer Creek Community Center. The community is invited to attend.

Delphi Presbyterian Church will host its SENIOR CITIZENS’ MONTHLY LUNCHEON Nov. 18 at noon in the church fellowship hall. An elevator is available for those in need. Call Susan at (765) 564-2371 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to request a ride or information.

Alco is collecting FOOD ITEMS for the Delphi Food Pantry during November.

PITTSBURG MISSIONARY BAPTIST CHURCH will have Sunday morning services only during the winter months. Sunday evening services will resume in the spring.

The 2009 DELPHI LIONS CHRISTMAS PARADE will be Dec. 5 at 1 p.m. with a theme of “A Family Christmas.” All individuals, businesses, church groups and organizations are encouraged to participate.
