Library
The library will be closed Monday in observance of Veterans Day. Regular hours will resume at 10 a.m. Nov. 12.
The community is invited to help salute our troops by participating in the “Hero Tree” program. Provide a name and photo of a soldier, sailor, airman, marine, coast guard, veteran or fallen service member to be placed on an ornament to be hung on the tree which will be displayed on the main floor through the end of November.
Cinema Night will be Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. featuring the “The Soloist,” and starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx. Refreshments and discussion will follow the film.
Coffee Beat will be Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. featuring artist Steve Hill. An Indiana native, Hill performs throughout the Midwest with a four-piece band and is also booked as an acoustic, solo performer. He has been described as a mix of James Taylor, The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen. The fabric of his tunes are interwoven with clever lyrics and an acoustic guitar style worthy of his own brand. The event is free and guest should enter through the Indiana St. entrance.

Well-known for children’s literature, Sendak also created illustrations for other authors, designed sets for theater, ballet, and opera, and was on the Children’s Television Workshop board of advisors during the development of Sesame Street. The exhibit is in the display cabinet on the main level.
