Flora Lions Club names costume and pie baking winners

Photo provided Flora Lions Club hosted its annual Chili Supper, Pie Baking Contest and Halloween Costume Judging Contest last Thursday evening. The event was held at the 4-H Community Building.

Costume winners in each age category follow:

Ages 2 & Under (2 groups): Scariest – Mason Scagnoli and Brenton Jackson; Prettiest – Dixon Ayres and Ava Lytle; Most Original – Zion Conner and Elly Perry.

Ages 3 & 4 (2 groups): Scariest – Christian Tillman, Austin Sorrells; Prettiest – Tessa Ayres and Cohen Ayres; Most Original – Avery Foreman and Cabrelle Welch.

Ages 5 & 6: Scariest – Macy McIlrath; Prettiest – Melanie Peterson; Most Original – Brant Blocher.

Ages 7 thru 9 (2 groups): Scariest – Jilian Herron and John Lambert; Prettiest – Hannah Ortman and Dagan Noonkester; Most Original – Adysan Herron and Ayden Ayres.

Ages 10 thru 14: Scariest – Cole Kirkman; Prettiest – Ally Kirkman; Most Original – Grace Rose.

Ages 15 & Over: Scariest – Jeff Spangler; Prettiest – Adam Ayres; Most Original – Mona Downhour.

All winners received $2 from the Lions Club and a coupon for an ice cream cone from Flora Pizza King.

Representatives from Flora Cablevision were on hand to pass out suckers and badges.

Pie Baking Contest

The best overall pie in the Pie Baking Contest was made by Mona Downhour. Her entry was a “New & Improved Coconut Macaroon Pie.”

Division winners were: Double Crust – Jane Craft, 1st place, Apricot; Cindy Reinke, 2nd, Cran-Apple Walnut. Single Crust – Jane Craft, 1st, Pilgrim; and Kim Bowman, 2nd, Dutch Apple.
