Surprised at the cost

I was recently transported to White County Memorial Hospital by the Carroll County Ambulance Service.

I live approximately 15 miles from the hospital. I just received the ambulance bill today and was shocked to see that it was over $700. How do you justify this? I realize they perform an important service and that they have certain costs but $700 for one hour and 15 miles!!!?

This is an example of healthcare cost out of control.

Maybe I should buy an ambulance and get rich quick!!!

Ron Scowden,

Delphi

Delphi, a great place

While on vacation, not traveling on interstates, I visited many small towns across Indiana and other states. I observed several active chambers of commerce as well as the businesses they support. I noted that businesses in small towns are still surviving and new ones are being opened.

While enjoying the wares of the businesses and absorbing their different styles, I had the gratifying experience of watching local residents purchasing goods and services. There was much conversation between sales associates with the loyal customers.

I felt a kinship with the businesses I visited because like them, we the businesses of Delphi, have the same relationship with our customers. Delphi is a beautiful city with great business people. And we have the vision and the drive needed to help our city successfully progress into the future.

The Delphi Chamber of Commerce’s objective is to encourage the public and business owners to shop local, to support the local economy as well as to invite others to live and share in our community. There is freedom here for all to voice our opinions, participate in common goals and just simply enjoy life.

The Delphi Chamber of Commerce prints a pamphlet containing community news and business information on a quarterly basis. Chamber and community activities are described in each publication, which can be found at all chamber member businesses and the chamber office located behind Bill’s Rock Shop on Washington St. We can also be found on the Internet at www.delphichamber.org.
