Halloween activities planned around county
Parents and their children will have many activities to choose from to celebrate a safe, fun and family oriented Halloween.
The information below is provided to help plot an exciting trick-or-treat course for the evening.
Burlington
Trick-or-Treat Night will be Oct. 30 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Trick-or-Treaters are invited to stop by the library for some spooktacular treats.
The Kiwanis Club will host its annual community Harvest Party on Saturday with a free chili supper. Costume judging for children ages 0 to sixth grade will begin at 6 p.m., followed by a cakewalk, pumpkin decorating, and hayrides. Those attending are asked to bring canned goods for the Food Pantry.
The Junior League will host a Haunted Woods fundraiser at the park Oct. 31 from 7 to 10 p.m. An admission fee will be charged. (Parents are advised that this activity may not be appropriate for young children.)
Faith Church of Christ will host a Trunk-of-Treats Oct. 31 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the church.
Camden
Trick-or-Treat Night will be Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Camden Lions Club will host its annual Hal- loween Party and costume judging Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. at the Community Building.
The library, town office, and fire station will distribute candy.
Deer Creek
A Trick-or-Treat Party will be held Saturday night at the Deer Creek Community Center. Food will be provided.
Delphi
Trick-or-Treat Night will be Oct. 31 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
The Delphi United Methodist Church will host a Fall Carnival for children ages preschool through fifth grade Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wabash & Erie Canal Conference Center in Delphi. There will be free tickets to play games, free hotdogs, popcorn, drinks and lots of candy.
Delphi Chamber of Commerce will host a Pumpkin Patch for children ages preschool through fifth grade Oct 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wabash & Eric Canal Center. Children may hunt for pumpkins and redeem them for a prize.
Flora: Trick-or- Treat Night will be Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Flora Lions Club will host its annual Halloween Fest Oct. 29 starting at 4:30 p.m. at the 4-H Community Building at the park. There will be an allyou can-eat chili supper for $5 and carry-outs will be available. Hot dogs, coney dogs and pie will also be served. Costume judging will be at 7 p.m. with all age categories eligible to win a prize. The person who brings the most used eyeglasses will also receive a prize. Free popcorn, cider and doughnuts will be available.
The Flora Lions Club will also host a Pie Judging Contest Oct. 29 at 4 p.m. at the Flora Community Building. Entries need to be submitted by 3:30 p.m. Best Overall Winner will receive a $100 Shop Flora First certificate. First and second place single and double crust winners will receive $50 Shop Flora First certificates each. All entries will be sold by the slice with proceeds benefiting the Flora Senior Center.
