Charles Hendrickson
Charles L. Hendrickson, 88, of St. Petersburg, Fla., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009.
He was born on March 30, 1921, in Camden, the son of Leonard and Blanch Hendrickson.
From 1939 to 1949 during World War II, he was a tool and die maker for Link Belt in Indianapolis where they made components for military equipment, including the Norden Bomb Sight.
Charlie lived in Flora from 1949 to 1974 and owned “Charlie’s,” a favorite local bar and restaurant.
He was member of the Camden Masonic Lodge and Indianapolis Scottish Rite and Shrine for 64 years.
For the past 25 years he has enjoyed his hobby of restoring fine antique furniture, a skill for which he was a well recognized expert.
Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Jean; a son, Charles Hendrickson of Los Angeles, Calif.; a daughter, Deborah Rudd of Lexington, Ky.; a sister, Carolyn Penn of Delphi; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
