Sibbitt 70th anniversary

Charles E. and Margaret Sibbitt celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Saturday with a family dinner at their home.

Sibbitt and the former Margaret Allbaugh were married Oct. 17, 1939, in Rossville, by the Rev. Robert Sink at the church parsonage.

Those attending the family dinner were their son and his wife, Jerry and Joyce Sibbitt of Bringhurst; their daughter and her husband, Pat and Bill Root of Lafayette; grandchildren, Doug and Tamara Sibbitt of Eaton Rapids, Mich., Rod and Kris Seward of Bringhurst, and Terry and Debbie Hamilton of Troy, Mich.; and great-grandchildren, Derrick and Jacob Sibbitt of Naperville, Ill., Blake, Alivia, Joy and Travis Seward of Bringhurst, and Emily and Will Hamilton of Troy, Mich.

DHS Class of 1939

Ten members of the 1939 Delphi High School graduating class celebrated their 70th year reunion with a meal at Riehle’s At The Club, Delphi, on Oct. 3.

There were 55 graduates, and 22 are living. Those attending the reunion were Frances Vories Curbox, Martha Been Justice, Ralph Parks, Robert Schnepp, Doris Zinn Parks, Jack Lentner, Pete Jackson, Marjorie Clifford, Pauline Brown Carbaugh, and Lois Allbaugh Maxwell.

Others attending were Ruby Oyler Miller, John Justice, Mary Schnepp, Phyllis Wise, Clay Maxwell, Gerald Landes, Linda Kennedy.

The next reunion will be the first Saturday in October, 2010, with the place to be determined.
