SIA to host first-ever dance marathon for breast cancer

On Nov. 14, Subaru of Indiana Automotive (SIA) will host the first-ever SIA Dance Marathon from 7 p.m. to midnight at the SIA Recreation Center. All proceeds from the event benefit Making Strides against Breast Cancer of Greater Lafayette – a beneficiary organization selected by SIA Associates.

During the event, teams of three to five people will be required to have one member moving throughout the duration of the event. Dance instructors will lead participants in a variety of dance moves including Zumba and Salsa. Area dance groups will showcase their talent on the SIA Dance Stage as well. The event will launch with a special live remote hosted by “Mac in the Morning” Bryan McGarvey of WASK 98.7 for the first hour and will continue with great music, games and more through midnight.

Awards will be presented to teams with the craziest outfit, most enthusiasm and best team theme. There will also be door prize raffles, free food and drinks. Cost is $15 per person or $10 with student ID at the door. Entry fees are not due until the day of the event.
