Romans chapter 8 speaks of living a life through the Spirit of God; it speaks of the roles of God the Father, of Jesus and of the Holy Spirit. In regard to prayer, we read of how God, the Father, works for the good of those that love Him (v.28).

We read of how Jesus Christ, the son, is at the right hand of God and is interceding for us (v.34). And read of how the Holy Spirit helps us to grow in weakness and He knows what we ought to pray for, that He sees beyond our words and searches our hearts and sees our minds and is interceding for us in prayer (v.26-27).

How powerful and how awesome to think that when we pray not only does the Father hear our prayers, the Holy Spirit is searching us as we pray and is speaking to God in His language to say what it is we really should be praying, all the while Christ Jesus is also interceding for us in prayer.

Furthermore, Romans 8:15 states; “And by Him we cry, ‘Abba Father’.” As we pray we are encouraged to pray many different names of Jesus, of God and of the Holy Spirit. We are encouraged to explore the many names of the trinity so that we are better able to pray to and to worship each in His own way and for what each have done in our lives.

But do not just take my word for this. Open your Bible to Romans chapter 8 and read it for yourself. Pray over this passage that God may reveal His Spirit to you and that He may work through your prayers. Explore the many names of our Creator, of His Son and of His Spirit and as you pray allow your rel ationship with our Holy God to become more personal that He may reveal Himself to you in a very real way.

Romans chapter 8 reveals many truths about the Spirit of God, how He delivers us from the power of the flesh, how we are called to be His children through His Spirit and how we are assured of future glory and of victory through His Spirit. Other Scripture relating to prayer through the Spirit of God can be found in Ephesians 6:18, 1 Chronicles 28:9, 1 John 5:14, and Hebrews 7:25 and 9:24.

May god bless you and may you experience His power through your prayers today.
