IHS recognizes Delphi business
Carroll County Abstract & Title Co., was honored recently
at the Indiana Historical Society’s (IHS) 2009 Corporate
and Foundation Recognition Dinner. The
Delphi-based company was added to the IHS’s Centennial
Business Registry, which includes companies that have
been in business for 100 years or more. The company received
its corporate charter from the Indiana Secretary of
State on Oct. 4, 1909. Operated under the administration
and ownership of its board of directors, shareholders
placed their own title records, indices, letter-press copies
of abstracts and other relevant material all in one office.
Now owned by Kurtis Fouts and Sandy Flora and renamed
Carroll County Abstract & Title Co., Inc., the business
continues to operate as a complete title plant and
facilitates insured real estate closings. Mrs. Flora is pictured
with the award, along with IHS Director of Corporate
Relations Frank Eagan, left, and emcee Gerry Dick,
