CARROLL COUNTY REPUBLICAN WOMEN will meet Monday at 7 p.m. at the Flora Community Center on North Division St. Speaker will be Jackie Partlow of Delphi, who will speak about plans for starting a halfway house in Carroll County. Linda Parrett and Donna Romein are the hostesses. For the scholarship fundraiser, members sold tickets for a drawing for a $150 gift certificate from Stephan’s IGA. Ann Brown won the prize.

Carroll’s annual FALL CHORAL CONCERT has been changed from Oct. 15 to Sunday, Oct. 18, at 2 p.m. in the CJSHS auditorium. Admission is free.

The CARROLL COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY will meet on Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Flora Pizza King.

The DCHS CHOIRS will perform their FALL CONCERT, “Red Hot Country Review,” featuring a variety of old and new country hits, on Sunday in the Little Theatre. Performances will be held at 1 p.m. and again at 3 p.m. Tickets are $5 each and can be purchased from any choir member or at the door. Feel free to sing along.

HOMECOMING will be celebrated Sunday at the FLORA FIRST BRETHREN CHURCH. Jillian LaDow and Laura Christopher will present a special musical program during the 10:30 morning worship service. A carry-in dinner will be held afterwards. The public is welcome to attend.

The second in a series of free programs about Alzheimer’s disease will be Oct. 20 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Flora Senior Center. The topic will be “BECOMING AN EXPERT CAREGIVER.” Those attending will learn simple techniques on handling things like challenging behaviors, preventing wandering, and activities of daily life such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and eating. Pre-registration is requested by calling the Alzheimer’s Association Helpline at 800-272-3900.

ARCHITECTURAL WALKING TOURS, sponsored by the Delphi Preservation Society, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. and again at 3:30 p.m. Tours will leave from the Opera House Gallery on the east side of the courthouse and will be narrated by Joe Kitchel and Greg Norman. Wear comfortable shoes. Cider and cookies will be available after the tour.

Delphi Presbyterian Church will host its SENIOR CITIZENS’ MONTHLY LUNCHEON Oct. 21 at noon in the church Fellowship Hall. An elevator is available for those in need. Call Susan at (765) 564-2371 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to request a ride or information.

A HUNTER EDUCATION CLASS to be taught by Indiana Conservation officers will be held Oct. 31 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Freedom Center, 101 W. Front St. in Delphi. There is no charge for the class but participants must pre-register by calling (765) 447-9582. Anyone born after Dec. 31, 1986, is required to take the class before purchasing a hunting license.

PUMPKIN PATCH, sponsored by the Delphi Chamber of Commerce, will be held Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wabash & Erie Canal in conjunction with the Delphi United Methodist Church Fall Carnival. Preschool through fifth grade children can hunt for pumpkins and redeem for goodie bags. To donate goodies, call the Chamber at (765) 564- 3034.

Delphi United Methodist Church is hosting a FALL CARNIVAL on Oct. 31 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wabash & Erie Canal Center in Delphi. Free tickets will be given for games, hotdogs, popcorn, drinks and lots of candy. Children in preschool through fifth grade are invited. Youth ages eight to 17 are invited to experience aviation Saturday at 8 a.m. at the Delphi Airport. The YOUNG EAGLES program is sponsored by EAA Chapter 256 in conjunction with the national organization and is intended to introduce youth to aviation. Participants will be given the opportunity to control a small aircraft, while in flight, with a certified pilot. Call (765) 491-8515 for information.
