Gordon W. Groninger, 87, Sabina, Ohio, formerly of Flora, died at his residence on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009.

He was born on March 27, 1922, in Carroll County, the son of the late Levi and Lesta Benefiel Groninger. In December, 1941 he married Deloris Kressley, who survives.

He served in the Army with the 338th Engineering Regiment in Africa and Italy.

He was the office manager for the Farm Bureau in Flora.

He was a former member of the Christian Church in Rockfield.

Also surviving are a son, Terry Groninger (wife: Sharon) of Sabina and three grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and one greatgreat grandchild.

Services were held Friday evening in Sabina, with burial on Sunday at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Flora.
