Grant may help Camden residents make home improvements/repairs
The Town of Camden and Star Development, Inc., are teaming up to try to improve the town. Homeowners residing within the town limits may qualify to have home improvements and repairs made on their homes with grant funds provided by Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA).
There are no out-ofpocket costs for the homeowners in order to participate in the program. All funds come from the grant provided by the IHCDA.
Funds may be used for new roofs, windows, lead issues, siding, electric upgrades, furnace/AC upgrades, handicap walkways, and many more items.
In order to be eligible to participate, homeowners have to be within the income limits set by the HUD. Star Development will conduct income verifications after all applications have been received. The homeowner is responsible for obtaining copies of all paperwork needed in order for Star Development to complete the verification and follow the guidelines set up by the HUD. These documents include a copy of the deed for the property, documentation of paid, upto date property insurance, documentation of paid, upto date property taxes, copies of the latest tax return, documentation of child support payments, if applicable, and copies of a Social Security award letter, if applicable.
Questions may be directed to the town office at (574) 686-2121 or Star Development at (765) 478- 6512.
