Steven James Hutton, 61, of Terre Haute, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, in the presence of his family in Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Steven was born Dec. 26, 1947, in Lafayette, to James C. and Judy Young Hutton.

Steven was a Certified Public Accountant for Industrial Supply Company.

He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church where he was on the finance council and a eucharistic minister. He was a past member of the pastoral council and past member of the deanery council.

A graduate of Delphi Community High School, he was a lifetime Purdue Alumni member, a member of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity, the Institute of CPAs, and the Indiana Society of CPAs. He served as city controller from 1996-1999. He was also an avid golfer and reader.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen O’Leary Hutton; daughter, Erin Hutton Stansifer (husband: Sean) of Indianapolis; a brother, David Hutton (wife: Elaine) of Edwardsville, Ill.; a sister, Susan Kahler (husband: Richard) of Delphi; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen Hutton.

Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday in St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, with Father Rick Ginther officiating. Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, Terre Haute, was in charge of arrangements..
