Central Catholic's offense had its way, rolling to a 62-0 win over the Cougars.

The Class A No. 1-ranked Knights scored 14 points in the first quarter, 27 in the second quarter for a 41-0 halftime shut-out. The Knights added 14 points in the third quarter and another 7 in the fourth.

The senior-led Knights are very quick. The team rushed 27 times for 478 yards. Senior Tom Almond carried 12 times for 186 yards and 4 touchdowns. Sophomore Danny Anthrop had 2 touchdowns (1 rushing and 1 receiving). Cody Christopher had a 13-yard TD run, and freshman Brad Schrader had a 63-yard TD run. Junior Niall Noonan caught a 34- yard touchdown pass. Noonan also kicked the PAT after each touchdown.

Carroll's head coach Steve Keown said he walked away even more impressed with the Knights' defense, which held the Cougars to 33 total yards and three first downs. Keown said that even though Carroll players did not give up, CC never provided breathing room for the young players.

Everybody talks about their offense, but they are just amazing up front. Almond just had it in high gear."

The Cougars did not have good field position all night. The Knights started all their drives in the first half inside Cougar territory.

Central Catholic's scoring came at 8:56 (1) on Anthrop's 2-yard run. The PAT was good. At 1:50 (1) left in the first quarter Mills found Noonan for a 34-yard TD pass to finish out the quarter. In the second quarter Almond scored on a 23-yard TD run at 11:36 (2) and with 8:34 (2) on the clock scored his second TD on a 43-yard run. Anthrop caught a 33-yard TD pass from Mills with 10:17 (2). Almond had a 27-yard TD run with 1:00 (2) left in the first half.

In the third quarter the Knights continued their success started in the first half. Almond scored on a 58-yard run at 9:34 (3). Christopher scored on a 13-yard run at 1:43 (3). In the fourth quarter, Schrader scored on a 63-yard run to finish CC's scoring.
