National Guard Warrior Challenge to take place in Delphi

The City of Delphi has been chosen as the site of the 4th Annual Army National Guard Warrior Challenge, according to an announcement by Mayor Randy Strasser. The Challenge will take place Sept. 12-13 at Riley Annex and in Riley Park in Delphi.

The Warrior Challenge is an esprit de corps event that brings together the 11 Recruit Sustainment Detachments in Indiana to compete in various events for bragging rights.

The recruitment sustainment program is designed to prepare newly enlisted Indiana Army National Guard soldiers to go through basic combat training and advanced individual training.

The Army Physical Fitness test will be Sept. 12 at the armory with a rope bridge at Riley Park, a hummer pull at the Brooks Center, and an individual maneuver team (IMT) in the Riley Park Annex. Events will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 10 p.m.

A six-mile road march down CR800 to the Delphi Airport will be Sept. 13 from 6:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
