Crossroads II to revisit county visioning process

Carroll County at the Crossroads II, a county-wide visioning process that began five years ago, will be revisited during two, three hour sessions on Sept. 3 and 10.

The Sept. 3 Crossroads event will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Wabash & Erie Canal Conference Center in Delphi. Discussion topic will be "What are the high priority issues as we consider strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the future of Carroll County?"

The Sept. 10 event will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at the 4-H Community Building in Flora. Discussion topic will be "What are the goals and actions to achieve our desired vision?"

Supper will be provided both evenings.

All interested persons are urged to attend.

Five years ago, the visioning process was launched through a partnership of the Carroll County Community Foundation and Carroll County Commissioners. This time the effort is being led by Carroll County Focus on the Future, Inc., in collaboration with the Carroll County Commissioners and County Council, and the following Carroll County organizations, Ag Association, Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development Corporation, Community Foundation, Historical Society and Friends of the Carroll County Parks, and Wabash & Erie Canal Association.

Funding for the effort is being provided by the Carroll County Community Foundation, REMC Operation Round- Up, Burlington Kiwanis Club, Salin Bank & Trust, Lafayette Bank & Trust, Regions Bank, First Financial Bank, Security Federal Savings Bank, Carroll County Economic Development Corporation, and Carroll County Ag Association.

Steering committee members are: Al Auffart, Janet Ayres, Dick Bradshaw, Ann Brown, Samantha Garrison, Bret Hanaway, Al Jackson, Dan McCain, Phyllis Porter, Susan Scholl, and Daryl Smith.
