Crossroads II to revisit county visioning process
Public encouraged to participate
      Carroll County at the Crossroads II, a county-wide visioning process that began five years ago, will be revisited during two, three hour sessions on Sept. 3 and 10. The Sept. 3 Crossroads event will be from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Wabash & Erie Canal Conference Center in Delphi.

      Delphi Community Elementary School announces the launching of its 2009- 2010 Box Tops for Education fundraising campaign. This year the school has set a goal of earning $2,100 to purchase books for the school library.

City tree falls on house
      Barbara Christiansen purchased the house at 123 W. Madison St., on the corner of Madison and Market streets, in Delphi after her husband passed away 13 years ago. There was a large tree located beyond her property line on the street side of the sidewalk.

State could use more and different urban trees
      Indiana could benefit by having more and different trees lining its city streets, according to a study on the trees in 23 cities done for the state's Department of Natural Resources Division of Forestry.

Confirmed Pandemic H1N1 Flu cases reported in Indiana
      The Indiana State Department of Health reports there has been a total of 317 confirmed cases of the pandemic H1N1 influenza in the state, including four deaths, so far this year. State health officials say every flu season has the potential to cause a lot of illness, doctor's visits, hospitalizations and deaths.

Battle of the Bounty - help stock the food pantry's shelves
      Coinciding with the annual Bacon Bowl football rivalry is the Battle of the Bounty. Both Carroll Jr.-Sr. and Delphi Community high schools have been collecting canned and boxed goods for the Carroll County Food Pantry. They will also be collecting for their respective schools at Friday night's Carroll-Delphi football game at Carroll.

GOING LOCAL Week promotes eating Indiana grown and produced foods
      GOING LOCAL Week 2009 will be celebrated in the Hoosier state from Sept. 6-12. It is a one week "challenge" to Indiana citizens to eat at least one Indiana locally grown or produced food at each meal during the seven-day event.
