Richard L. Eller
Richard Lee "Dick" Eller, 75, Kokomo, died at 4:45 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 2, 2009, at Century Villa Health Care in Greentown.
Born June 27, 1934, in Ervin Township, Howard County, he was the youngest of eight children of Charley A. and Faye (Brubaker) Eller. On June 16, 1963, in Kentland, he married Marion J. Rieger and she survives.
He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1952. From March 1957 until December 1958 he served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Eller was a farmer all of his life.
He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and Northwestern Lions Club, serving as a past member of the board of directors.
Surviving with his wife of Kokomo are two sons, Michael Charles Eller (wife: Cindy) of Kokomo and Richard Wayne Eller of Galveston; six brothers and sisters, Pauline Eller and Harold Eller, and Charlie Eller (wife: Marilyn), all of Kokomo, Mary Smith of Galveston, Dave Eller (wife: Jane) of Plainfield, and Robert Eller (wife: Joan) of Forest; one granddaughter; two stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Catherine Dishon, and a nephew, John Howard Rieger.
Services will be held today, Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. at Stout & Son Funeral Home Neptune Chapel, 44 Michigan Road, Burlington. Officiating will be the Rev. Bud Probasco the Rev. LuAnn Young and the Rev. Ken Freeland. Burial will follow in South Union Cemetery in western Howard County. Calling Hours: Friends and family may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Funeral Home
