Geneva G. Brown
Geneva G. "Maxine" Brown, 86, Delphi, passed away on Monday, Aug. 3, 2009, at 8:23 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Lafayette.
Born July 23, 1923, in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Edwin L. and Hazel E. Wimberley Grover. Her marriage was on Sept. 16, 1942, to Joseph L. Brown, who preceded her in death on April 19, 1999.
Mrs. Brown was a 1941 graduate of Kokomo High School.
She was the owner and operator of Brownie's Pizza in Camden. She also worked as a clerk in the Carroll County Surveyor's office.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Rockfield Presbyterian Church, the Friendship Circle, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Camden Lions Club.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching Indiana University basketball, and Delphi sports. She especially enjoyed spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Surviving are three grandchildren whom she and her husband raised, Angela Hart (husband: Clay), Kelli Brown and Joe Brown, all of Delphi; two sisters, Connie Blaylock and Barbara Beck; a brother, Leroy "Moe" Grover, all of Kokomo; and five greatgrandchildren, Cody Miller, Hunter Hart, Dylan Hart, Sydni Whitaker, all of Delphi, and Alexis Brown of Lafayette.
Preceding her in death were three siblings, Berniece Grover, Helen Coble and Richard Grover.
Visitation will be Friday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi. Pastor Ken Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Ball Hill Cemetery near Cutler.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the American Heart Association.
