Bible School
Singing, crafts, animal sounds, stories around the campfire, supper, games, nature time, snacks, and lots of campers make up summer camp whether indoors, outdoors, at an organized camp or in a church for Vacation Bible School.
"Son Rock Kids Camp" is the theme of the United Vacation Bible School sponsored by Cutler Presbyterian Church, Flora Presbyterian Church, and Flora First Christian Church, on Sunday, July 19, through Thursday, July 23.
United VBS will begin each evening at 6 p.m. with a light supper and conclude at 8:30 p.m. The event will be held at the First Christian Church on South Center Street, Flora. Registration will be held at 5:30 Sunday evening. Parents or guardians registering children will be asked to sign a permission and participation form.
Classes will be held for children ages three through junior high. They will explore the five themes of Kids Camp: Accepted by Jesus, Protected by Jesus, Saved by Jesus, Forgiven by Jesus, and Living for Jesus. The daily themes and their activities give children direction to Christian commitment and living.
Tuesday evening's VBS will be held at the Flora Community Park. Parents are asked to bring their children to the park at 6 p.m. and pick them up at 8:30 sharp Tuesday night.
Parents are invited to join their children on Thursday evening for supper and to be a part of the evening rotations and activities. A closing program will be held on Thursday at 8 p.m. followed by refreshments in the Fellowship Hall.
Adult Bible study will be led each evening by Chuck Compton, pastor of the Flora Presbyterian Church.
Daily VBS offerings will go to purchase canoes for pastors to travel to their church throughout the Mbandaka District of the Congo.
All children are invited to participate. For more information, call 967-4246 or 967- 4877.
