County roads set for resurfacing; bids are being accepted

Bids are being accepted for work on local roads in Cass and Carroll counties, state Rep. Rich McClain (RLogansport) said last week. The work is for asphalt resurfacing on some of Cass and Carroll counties' roads.

"Giving Cass and Carroll counties the funding to improve their roads, in my opinion, is a great use of federal stimulus money," said Rep. McClain. "Not only is this going to benefit the local communities, it will also benefit local contractors looking for available construction projects in order to keep work coming in and avoid idle production."

Carroll County projects, all of which are scheduled for completion by Oct. 15, follow: On County Road 75 West from Camden's town limits to County Road 650 North. On County Road 300 West from Lockport Bridge to County Road 1100 North. On Bicycle Bridge Road from County Road 1200 West to U.S. 421. On County Road 1200 West from County Line to Bicycle Bridge Road.

According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, the request for bids is in anticipation of funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
