Jarvis Simmons of Bringhurst participated in the National Junior Summer Spectacular swine show held recently in Louisville, Ky. The National Junior Swine Association sponsored event drew 747 purebred gilts from across the country. Simmons competed against 257 of those gilts with his Duroc. He placed first in class and his gilt was then chosen as the Champion Duroc Gilt Breed and Owned. This was his first year to farrow his own show pigs. His sister, Desiray, is pictured with him.
