Camden man is runner-up in wheelstand championship
      A definite crowd-pleaser at the Bunker Hill Dragstrip is the once-a-year daredevil wheelstand contest. At this year's competition on June 20, George Willis of Camden was runner-up, taking home a prize of $1,000. In two rounds of competition, contestants take their turn at standing their car on two wheels and seeing who can travel the farthest with the car up in the air.

     Tourney champs Delphi Youth Baseball's Major League team won the county tournament held last Wednesday night in Camden after defeating the Flora team 11-1. Near-record spring season for turkey in Indiana
      The 2009 spring season harvest was Indiana's second highest since modern-day turkey seasons began 40 years ago, exceeding the 2008 harvest by 789 birds, according to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. Of the approximately 59,000 hunters who pursued wild turkey in the state this spring, 12,993 were successful.

      DCHS volleyball Anyone interested in attending the DCHS Volleyball Camp may show up and register at the camp that starts Monday and continues through Friday, July 10. Times are 4 to 5:30 p.m. for grades 2 to 5 and from 6 to 8 p.m. for grades 6 to 8.

Hunting & Trapping Guide available online
      The 2009-2010 Indiana DNR Hunting and Trapping Guide is available on the DNR Web site, dnr.IN.gov. Within the next week or two, the guide will be available, free of charge, at most DNR properties, various sporting goods stores, hunting license vendors and other locations around the state.
