FLORA UTILITIES employees will be inspecting properties for downspouts that are discharging into the sanitary sewer over the next few months. They will have apparel on verifying they are a town employee.
A meeting of the CARROLL COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY will be held June 25 at 7 p.m. in the Camden Community Building. All precinct committee persons and those interested in the Democratic party are urged to attend.
CARROLL COUNTY POST OFFICES will close their retail counters at 12 noon on July 3 to enable retail employees to spend time with their families. The last collection for mail deposited in blue collection boxes will also be at noon on that day. All collection points that have a regularly scheduled collection time prior to 12 p.m. (noon) on July 3 will be collected as scheduled. Regular mail delivery for July 3 will be unaffected by the change. Post Office retail counters will be closed on July 4 and there will be no mail delivery.
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has activated a TEMPORARY TRAFFIC SIGNAL on S.R. 25 at County Road 450 North in Tippecanoe County. The traffic signal was installed to help with added traffic on C.R. 450 N. from the detours for construction on the Hoosier Heartland project.
CARROLL FFA ALUMNI will meet at 7:30 p.m. July 1 in the Carroll Ag Barn. Past and present members are urged to attend. Anyone interested in joining the club should also plan to attend.
DELPHI ART CLUB will meet at 7 p.m. July 2 in the Delphi Senior Center on West Adams St. across from the Stone Barn. It will be a planning meeting for the Old Settlers Art Show in August. Hostess will be Barbara Humphrey. Guests are welcome.
Pre-registration and entry fee are due by June 29 for the PORK BBQ COOKOFF which will be held during the Carroll County 4-H Fair. Grilling will be done between 1 and 5:30 p.m. on July 16 on the west side of the picnic area in the park. The provided pork loins can be picked up the night before between 7 and 8 p.m. at the 4-H building for those who want to marinade their entries. Cooks must provide their own grills and marinades. The public will vote through tasting and donating. The donations will benefit the 4- H program. Entry forms are available at the Extension Office or on the 4-H fair website, http://www.extension. purdue.edu/Carroll/fair -main.mht.
The 16th annual DELPHI INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE will be July 4 at 10 a.m. Registration is from 7:30 until 9:30 a.m. in the Globe-Value parking lot. Judging begins at 9. A memorial service will be held at 10 on the courthouse square. Groups, businesses, clubs and individuals are encouraged to enter floats. Awards will be presented at 11:45 at the canal center.
