I agree with all the options offered here at some level, but summer for me is the enjoyment of freedom from having to wear extra clothing. I can freely go outside and enjoy God's creation—the greenery, the birds chirping, the water flowing in the creeks, the sweet corn and strawberries, the longer days, the outdoor activities of the people, the laughter of kids out of school, and the general frivolity of life. It makes me happy just walking down the street and taking in the ambiance of friends and neighbors outside doing the same. Fishing, camping, working in the garage with the door open, and enjoying the daylight hours in the evenings away from the TV are all refreshing and stimulating. We have much to be thankful for!!
