Rossville youth is Eagle Scout
Jamie DeHaven Jamie DeHaven of Rossville has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
He will be recognized at an Eagle Court of Honor at Camp Cullom, 6815W County Road 200N, Frankfort, on June 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. All family and friends are invited to attend.
His eagle project was building three picnic tables for the Rossville School playground. The students used them daily during recess, and they've also been used after school during baseball and softball games. Donated materials allowed him to build the tables for little expense.
Jamie is the son of Jerry and Delaina DeHaven. He will be a senior this fall at Rossville High School. He has been in scouting since the age of seven. He earned the Arrow of Light, which is the highest achievement a Cub Scout can attain, before entering Boy Scouts. He has been a member of Rossville Boy Scout Troop 337.
He recently enjoyed his last event with his troop, a canoe trip in Minnesota. He plans to give back to younger scouts by serving as junior assistant scoutmaster.
