Comet staff report

The Indiana State Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Units (EOD) and an agent from Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) removed 146 deteriorated sticks of dynamite, 127 blasting caps, and detonator cord from a shed on U.S. 421, just south of Delphi over two days last week.

According to the Carroll County Sheriff's Department, the dynamite had been there for approximately 25 years and the property owner wanted it removed.

Master Trooper Chris Hager said the contests were removed and disposed of safely. Hager was assisted by Sergeant Leonard Langland a detective out of the Pendleton District.
