Locals to perform in musical

"The Wedding Singer," the musical comedy, will be presented by TippeCanoe Players Dinner Theatre June 18-21 at Graff Auditorium, Harrison High School, 5701N 50W, West Lafayette.

Dinner is at 6:30 p.m. and the show at 7:30. There also will be a matinee on June 21, with lunch at 12:30 p.m. and the show at 1:30.

"The Wedding Singer," is based on the New Line Cinema film written by Tim Herlihy. Recently released for amateur production, the TippeCanoe Players will be the first in the area to perform the musical. It has a large cast, of all ages, from Tippecanoe County and surrounding counties. The production also features a band composed of 13 musicians.

Among those performing and helping in other capacities are the following:

Fred Schnarr, assistant Principal at Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School, and his three children, Abby, Sam and Lexi, will be acting.

Stephenie Pencek is assistant director, backstage manager, and also and will play the part of Angie.

Seth Pencek, 2008 Carroll graduate, will play the role of Glen.

Jake Walker, sophomore at Carroll, will play the role of Billy Idol and other roles.

Jenny Walker, will be helping with hair, make-up and backstage

Jerome Hemersbach, Carroll senior, will be playing guitar in the pit band.

Jeremy Ruemler is the technical director.
