Delphi CWF
The CWF of the Delphi Christian Church met June 1 in the church with Carolyn Edging as hostess.
Eleven members answered roll call by bringing a wedding picture to share.
A sandwich and pie lunch will be served June 28 to honor the fathers in the church.
Another yard and bake sale is being planned for Aug. 8.
The money for he year was divided between Fame, Hippo Valley, camp fees, and Released Time.
Katie Cree installed the officers for the coming year: Winnie Beard, president; Fairy Hackerd, vice president; Cindy Newman, secretary; Nancy Cripe, treasurer; Lee Nydegger, cheer; and Pat Curts, mission.
The next meeting will be July 6 with Laverne Andry as hostess.
Wednesday Forum
Members of the Wednesday Forum met recently at the home of Nancy Klinker.
Nancy Biederwolf presented a history lesson about pirates which included present times piracy. The earliest documented instance of piracy was the exploits of the Sea People who threatened the Aegean and Mediterranean seas in 13th century B.C. Gracie O'Malley and Ann Bonny, who masqueraded as a man, were two of the lesser known female pirates from Ireland.
Bridge-A-Rama
Proceeds from Bridge-ARama support Tri Kappa scholarships.
Bridge-A-Rama high scores for April were Joann Vianco and Helen Schilling with 3,640 points, Ed Gruber and Jack Cross with 3,600 points and Marion Hathaway and Don Billings with 3,470 points.
High scores in each group were Joan Maxwell and Donnabelle Sieber, Betty Huffman and Sam Watkins, Joyce Sullivan and Rita Wingard, Jane Smith and Sieber, Mary Clifford and Vianco, Mary Brown and Tina Tyner, Ginny Emerson and Pay Myer, Wingard and Sieber and Jack Cohee and Bob Crume.
Friends of the Parks
Friends of Carroll County Parks met recently and elected the following officers: Al Auffart, president; Dale Snipes, vice president; MaryAnn Burton, treasurer; and Brenda Garrison, secretary.
The following people and organizations were recognized for their assistance with projects at the Deer Creek and French Post parks: Bill Maxwell, Delphi Lions Club; Delphi Hardware; Jeff and Krista Watson; Carroll County REMC; Casey Watson; and Mark Nipple.
