Patron addresses Carroll board about principal's contract
      Valta Thieke addressed the Carroll School Board during the "public comments" portion of the June 3 meeting. Speaking on behalf of other non-named patrons in the Carroll School district, she asked the board questions pertaining to the "non renewal" of the contract of CJSHS principal Charles Huckstep.

County chamber sponsors Health Summit for professionals
      A community Health Summit, sponsored by the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, will be tonight, June 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Canal Center in Delphi. Medical doctors, chiropractors, eye doctors, dentists, etc. are invited to attend.

Flora library offers a different art class
      Flora Public Library's summer reading program has the theme, "Be Creative at Your Library." In connection with that theme, the library and art instructor Grace Woodruff are offering summer art classes for preschool age through adult.

ISP disposes of dynamite near Delphi
      The Indiana State Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal Units (EOD) and an agent from Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) removed 146 deteriorated sticks of dynamite, 127 blasting caps, and detonator cord from a shed on U.S. 421, just south of Delphi over two days last week.

Tickets on sale for Secret Garden Tour
      A Secret Garden Tour will take gardening enthusiasts to homes in Camden, Cutler and Flora on June 20. The tour, sponsored by Flora Community Club's K.I.C.K. team, will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a June 27 rain date. Featured gardens belong to Sherry and Ted Donoho, 3364 S. Annual Wildcat celebration draws nature and antique-loving crowd
      The fifth annual "Celebrate the Wildcat" event at Adams Mill near Cutler drew visitors from far and near Saturday. The weather cooperated to promote not only the enjoyment of the creek but also the jewel of the local community, the Adams Mill.

ABATE to ride June 13
      American Bikers Aimed Towards Education (ABATE) of Indiana, Inc. will ride through Carroll County this Saturday as part of the third annual Showdown Ride poker run event. Proceeds from the motorcycle ride will help children with juvenile diabetes. One of nine stops for the poker hand will be at Graham's Saloon in Delphi.
