Conservation Day Camp
Youth interested in "Wildlife, Fishing, Forestry, Entomology, Soil & Water Conservation, and Outdoor Cooking" are invited to attend the Area 8 Conservation Day at France Park on June 9. In order to plan for lunch and the activities, contact the Carroll County Extension Office, 765-564-3169, by June 4.
Junior Open Beef Show
The Carroll County 4-H Exhibit Association is sponsoring a Junior Open Beef Show on Saturday, June 13, at the Carroll County Fairgrounds. Cattle may be brought after 7 a.m. Weighing starts at 8 a.m. The show will begin at 1:30 p.m. All Indiana residents ages 8 through 21 are eligible to show. For a show flier, contact the Carroll County Extension Office.
Pen Cards/ Entry Fee due
Turn into the 4-H office by June 12 your entry/auction fee and pen cards.
4-H Electric Workshop
The 4-H Electric leaders will hold two Electric Workshops in June at the REMC Building in Delphi. The dates are: June 11 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. and June 30 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. These will be "hands-on" workshops so bring your project. NOTE: First-year members must bring their wooden mounting block. Everyone should RSVP by 4:30 p.m. on the day of the workshop so Peg will know who will be attending.
Collections Workshop
Members of the 4-H Collections project should plan to attend one of two workshops, either on June 9 or June 30 at 6:30 p.m. at the 4- H building. Bring project book and questions.
Livestock showmanship workshops
4-H'ers taking livestock projects - beef, sheep, swine - should plan to attend the appropriate species workshop on June 11 from 6-9 p.m. at the 4-H building. Mike Witte will present a livestock workshop covering helpful tips on showmanship, grooming, and feeding. Specific showmanship tips will be: Swine - 6 p.m. Beef - 7 p.m. Sheep - 8 p.m. NOTE: PQA Plus will be offered to swine members at 7 p.m. The PQA Plus quiz will be offered at 8 p.m. These are the last PQA Plus offered in Carroll County for 4-H'ers in 2009.
