Hopewell Cemetery Board will meet June 7 at 2 p.m. at the Deer Creek Presbyterian Church. Any interested person is welcome to attend.

Deer Creek Community Center is hosting a Bingo Party at the center on Friday at 6:30 p.m. There will be door prizes.

Deer Creek Presbyterian Church's monthly breakfast will be Saturday. Proceeds will go to Betty Smith, who is undergoing treatment for cancer.

Deer Creek Presbyterian Church's annual Swine 'n Dine will be Sunday at the church, with serving from 11:30 a.m. to l p.m. Everyone is invited.

Bob Burton, president of the Friends of Carroll County Parks, reported that in April a lot of people showed up to clean up around Deer Creek Park and they planted 150 trees. Burton reported there are eight modern campsites at Deer Creek Park with electricity and water.

Junior Robeson's son, Lloyd Robeson of Allentown, Pa., is here for a visit.

A surprise birthday party for Etta Byers was held recently at the home of her sister and husband, Nina and Dick Holle. Attending were Ralph Byers, Donnabell Hinkle, Kathryn Caldwell, Ted and Pat Hughes, Gene and Carol Swank and Ruth Swank. Later they met their daughter and husband, Vicki and Steve Anderson, for dinner in Rossville. The Byerses also traveled to Brookston to visit their granddaughter Jennifer Perry, and traveled to Fort Wayne to celebrate Etta's and grandson Alex New' birthdays.
