Wolf Wolf Vicki Wolf, station director at Flora's local access cable TV station, is leaving her position there after 27 years of service.

She began volunteering at Channel 7 (now Channel 2) in 1982, and after a short time became station manager and program director.

"It has been a challenging experience but I don't regret a moment of it," Wolf said. "It was not just a job, but a passion. I loved it and that's why I stayed all these years. I have met so many interesting people, mostly local, and had so many experiences."

Wolf said her favorite memories are when they held the MDA Telethon on the street in front of the studio.

"We carried all the equipment downstairs and blocked off the street," she said. "We had a group of devoted people who would all help raise money for MDA. We would go 'Live on the Air.' We had local talent come in and people would call in challenges to each other for pledges. It was such a community effort. We did this several years."

"Another experience that stands out would be the children's shows I produced called 'Smiley and Friends.' My own kids, Chad and Julia, participated in those. So many memories come to mind thinking about this."

Wolf said through the years, the station got more and better equipment.

"Cameras got smaller, and the quality of the picture got better with digital," she said.

"Channel 2, to me, is very important and we are blessed to have our own little TV station where we can see our local church services and local events that no one else cares about, but our own community.

"There are other people who have committed so much time to this as well, and I so appreciate the help they give, especially Mike and Judy Hoffman and Larry Henning. Of course there are others, and it takes this to be a success. I thank the Town of Flora for supporting the station all these years."

This is her last week at Channel 2. As director, she did general taping, programming, scheduling, and ran equipment in the studio.

"The station ran so smoothly under her leadership; I never had to worry about it," said Joretta Tinsman, Town of Flora clerktreasurer.

"I think she's done a fabulous job," Judy Hoffman said. "She's given it a lot of time. She's been good to work with and always receptive to new ideas."

Wolf also has been working at Clinton House Health and Rehab at Frankfort for two years, and after completing classes, has now taken a fulltime position there as a Certified Activity Director.

"Sometimes we know when it's time to move on," she said. "I have no doubt there will be someone who will step in and do a great job, and I wish them well. As the old Bob Hope song goes, 'Thanks for the memories.'"
