ALL CANAL AND TRAILS VOLUNTEERS are invited to a free lunch at noon June 6 at the Canal Park shelter house, followed by a recognition ceremony. There will be Earth Team hats and shirts available for volunteers who worked at least a day in the past 12 months. The lunch is provided by Psi Iota Xi Sorority. At 1 p.m., a narrated hike will take participants to the new canal boat warehouse and newly completed Mule Barn. A longer walk will begin from the Canal Center at the same time.
The AMERICAN RED CROSS BLOODMOBILE will be in Burlington on Tuesday. The blood drive will be held at the Burlington Community Park Building from 1 to 6:30 p.m. The Red Cross needs all who can to donate because of the low supply of all blood types. The Fort Wayne office of the American Red Cross supplies blood to hospitals in northern Indiana and Ohio . Walk-ins are welcomed.
CELEBRATE THE WILDCAT CREEK at Adams Mill will be Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Activities will include free canoe rides from 11 to 5, nature hikes, and tours of Adams Mill. Local artists and craftsmen, and conservation and environmental groups will have displays and answer questions. Food and beverages will be available.
HOOSIER BURN CAMP VISITOR'S DAY will be May 27 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Camp Tecumseh, near Delphi. The annual camp has a volunteer staff of firefighters, doctors, nurses and adult burn survivors to lead adolescent burn survivors through a week of canoeing, swimming, crafts and rock climbing.
DOLLY MADISON EXTENSION HOMEMAKERS CLUB will meet June 1 at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Pat Frey. Secret pals will be revealed with gifts. For information contact Carol Walters at (574) 589-3105.
