As the community wraps its arms around the Wagoner and Flora families, we must not forget the men and women who are on the front lines during emergencies. When tragedies such as occurred Friday night happen, the volunteer firefighters, police, EMTs and paramedics, need our support, too.

Six years ago a fire in Bringhurst took the lives of a mother and her two children. Just recently a man died in a fire in his Flora trailer home and a Camden man died when his horse-drawn wagon was struck from behind by a pick-up truck.

These tragedies all take their toll on emergency workers. They need to know that the community appreciates their dedication.

Say a prayer for them along with those who have suffered losses.
