Pittsburg and Flora Churches of the Brethren voted last Sunday to officially merge the two congregations as Living Faith Church of the Brethren.
This follows a trial period which began last summer in which the two congregations began holding joint services, meetings and programs. The merger will be officially approved at the district conference in September.
Members of Bachelor Run Church of the Brethren will vote next Sunday as to whether they will merge their congregation with Living Faith.
The next step will be for the church boards to meet to form an internal structure. J.P. Freeman is pastor.

Dr. Randal G. Armstrong and Dr. Gregory D. Norman, Delphi optometrists, will become partners in the practice of Optometry May 21 and locate their practices in Dr. Armstrong's present location.
The doctors feel they can offer the best patient care possible by expanding hours and having at least one doctor at the office at all times during regular hours.
After finding 1121 mushrooms Saturday "somewhere" in Carroll County, Doris, Charlie and DeWayne Pirtle of Flora decided to try their luck again on Sunday and found 479 more. Naturally, they're not going to reveal the location of their secret hunting ground.

The Delphi high school honor roll for the second grading period of this semester has been announced. The all "A" list is as follows: Seniors Robert Delaney, Susan Johnson, Juniors-Charles Boone, Stephen Peterson. Sophomores-Bob Small, David Peterson, Corinne Keisling. Freshmen-Kay Witter, Bonnie Maxwell, Marcia Mason, Barbara Bell. 8th Grade-Jack Klepinger, David McCain. 7th Grade-Virginia Davis, Diana Jester, William High, Sandra Jones.
Better get your hair cut quick and short before May 11 for beginning on that date the Carroll county barbers will begin charging $1.25 for each such operation.

Carroll County announced the candidates running for office in the 1934 primary election. Republican candidates for county auditor were Raymond F. Barbar, Walter E. Bowen, George W. Peterson and William F. Riley and democrat candidates were Wade W. Farr, Jesse McCarty, Harley A. Mummert, Alvin O. Wetzel and Ruth Whiteman. Republican candidates for county sheriff were Lavon Carey, Russell F. Flora and Ralph E. Hill and democrat candidates were Albert C. Clifton and Charles Harvey. Republicans candidates for county surveyor were Arthur Ritchey and Fred C. Smith and democrat candidates were Samuel R. Dyer and Delbert Gunder. Republicans candidates for county assessor were J. Will Acheson, Tillman H. Leslie and Earl E. Thompson and democrat candidates were Byron W. Calvert, John L. Kennard and Charles E. Schnepp.

Most railroads require temperance on the part of their employees but the Missouri, Kansas & Texas Railway Company goes so far as to forbid them to put themselves in the way of temptation. It has issued an order to the effect that any employee who has his pay check cashed in a saloon will be discharged. The presumption is, probably, that the cashing of a check in such places indicates the partaking of at least one drink.
Ainsworth Arnold gained considerable prominence in the theatrical world by playing at the Majestic theatre in Indianapolis. He was the brother of Mrs. G. E. Voorhees and Frank Arnold of Flora. The Sunday Star featured Arnold by publishing his picture with a group of well known actors who appeared in many popular plays of the season.
