This year, two junior girls and four junior boys from Camden, Delphi and Flora were chosen to attend.
Hoosier Boys and Girls State was designed to educate Indiana juniors in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of citizenship. The week-long living and learning experience provides opportunities to gain first-hand knowledge through simulated city, county and state political events.
Delegates must be enrolled as a junior in either a Indiana high school or state certified home school, be in the upper half of their class academically, have an interest in government, be honest and posses leadership abilities and good character. In addition to learning about politics, students are eligible to receive a variety of scholarships to instate colleges and universities.
