Camden-Jackson Twp. Public Library held a special program for participants in the library's Winter Into Spring Reading Club. Jan Newton of Logansport presented a review of the book, "Dewey," the small town library cat who touched the world, by Vicki Myron. During refreshment time, memories were shared of special cats.
Irene Pyle received a gift for reading the most books this year, 12. Door prize winners were Judy Berkshire and Rose Marie Chapman.
Those who took part were Katie Cree, Myna Ruth Walters, Cecelia Griffey, Alice Reppert, Mary Whitfield, Samantha Scott, Judy Berkshire, Shelly Britton, Lisa Hollingsworth, and the library staff.

In Stitches Fiber Arts Circle will meet May 18 at 6:30 p.m. The group will meet to exchange ideas, get advice and to set time to work on fiber projects. Bring a project to work on and a snack to share.
Cinema Night will be May 21 at 7 p.m. and feature the viewing of seven short films which were awarded or nominated for Academy Awards. Refreshments will be provided. "West Bank Story" a musical comedy set in the fastpaced world of competing falafel, stands in the West Bank. Also included is the winner for best animated short "The Danish Poet."
Stargazers Children's Theatre call-outs for "Charlotte's Web, the Musical" will be May 27 for children in grades kindergarten through fourth and May 28 for fifth through eighth graders.
Story Time will not meet again until June 11.

The library will be closed Saturday, May 23, and Monday May 26, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. Summer hours begin May 26. Summer hours are Monday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Join the Flora Book Club on Wednesday, May 20 at 10 a.m. as we discuss, "A Girl of the Limberlost," a novel written by the American writer and naturalist Gene Stratton-Porter. First published in 1909, the story takes place in Indiana, in and around the Limberlost Swamp, during the early 20th century. The book club meets in the Flora Senior Center. Everyone is welcome.
"Be Creative at your Library" this summer at the Flora Public Library and explore the worlds of music, art, books, and more. The 2009 Summer Reading Program is open to all ages, preschool through adult, with programs, prize drawings, story hours, art classes, and our reading club.
All residents of Carroll County can participate in summer reading. All programs are free of charge. Registration for the Summer Reading Program begins on May 26. The program runs June 1 through July 24.
The theme for the next storytime is "Farms." Storytime is Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.
