Gary D. Richeson, 59, of West Lafayette, died unexpectedly at 1:47 p.m. Sunday, April

19, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette.

Born June 22, 1949, in Lafayette, he was the son of Norman "Dean" and Doris Gingrich Richeson. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1967. His marriage was on Feb. 27, 1971, in Lafayette, to Janet S. "Jan" Flood, who survives.

He had worked at Wabash Center in Lafayette for the past five years. Prior to that, he and his wife lived in Delphi for over 30 years and he worked for the former Gerber Globe Valve Corporation.

Mr. Richeson was a member of the Oak Grove Country Club in Oxford.

He was an avid golfer, fisherman and enjoyed card games.

Mr. Richeson dearly loved his wife, daughters, son, grandchildren, parents, sisters, grandmother and all extended family.

Also surviving are two daughters, Wendy Maxson (husband: Mathew) of Attica and Robyn Williams (husband: Mitchell) of Lafayette; a son, Josh Richeson (wife: Rhonda) of Delphi; two sisters, Vicki DuVall (husband: Larry) of Terre Haute and Marla Richeson of Lafayette; paternal grandmother, Audrey Richeson of Lafayette; and eight grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents.

A celebration gathering will take place Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi.
