Comet staff report

The illustrator of a new book that helps parents educate their children on the importance of financial responsibility will be at Security Federal Savings Bank in Delphi Saturday morning.

April Willy will be signing copies of Three Cups from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The book was written by Mark St. Germain, telling about how Tony Townsley, a certified public accountant in Westfield, taught his own children to use money wisely.

The story follows a young boy and how he learns to manage his money using a three cup concept - 70 percent into a savings cup, 20 percent into a spending cup and 10 percent into a charity cup.

Townsley approached his friend, Scott Willy, who owns a marketing company in Indianapolis, about his idea for a children's book and it took off from there. St. Germain was hired to do the writing and Scott's wife, April, an award-winning painter and illustrator, to do the illustrations.

In 2008, the book was named a Grandkids Gift Guide Award Winner.

At Saturday's book signing event at Security Federal, there will also be stories read and refreshments served.
